LinkedIn Lesson 6 - Promoting News & Events

“LinkedIn is by far my most favoured of all social media tools when it comes to business. I use it daily, from reading helpful articles to managing my contacts. Last week, we discovered how to use LinkedIn as a handy tool for recruitment. Our topic for this week is all about promoting events, news and launches. 

Whether preparing for a large-scale industry event, beginning a marketing campaign or launching a new product for your business, LinkedIn should be one of your Primary Platforms for Promotional Purposes! 

 Posting to LinkedIn is an excellent way to showcase your knowledge and skills – allowing you to establish yourself as an online expert in no time. Your update will be visible to your connections and followers, as well as being searchable by keyword using LinkedIn’s powerful search function. 

Post frequency and Time of Day

Remember that LinkedIn is a professional network and should be used accordingly. Unlike many other platforms, it is not recommended that you post multiple times a day.  The best times in which to post however; are entirely debatable and often vary between users and industries. In my opinion,you’ll receive higher levels of engagement on any content posted during work hours. LinkedIn is a career-orientated tool after all, meaning your contacts are likely to be visiting the website during their hours of work; which for most is between 9am and 5pm.

Stay clear of any posts that aren’t related to your business or industry, and avoid any self-promotion or strong sales techniques. LinkedIn gives you the ability to reach out to hundreds of enthusiastic and engaged users, so be sure that the focus of your content isn’t just to inform but also to educate…
